This is a sniped stock poster, which means the posters were printed with a blank area, which could then be overprinted with the specific short, in this case, Horsefly Opera. This poster is from the original Terrytoons era. This era featured characters such as Fanny Zilch, Mighty Mouse, Heckle and Jeckle, Gandy Goose, Sourpuss, Dinky Duck, Little Roquefort, the Terry Bears, Dimwit, Luno and Al Falfa. Terrytoons was an American animation studio in New Rochelle, New York, that produced animated cartoons for theatrical release from 1929 to 1973 (and briefly returned between 1987 and 1996 for television in name only). The "New Terrytoons" period of the late 1950s through the mid-1960s produced such characters as Clint Clobber, Tom Terrific, Deputy Dawg, Hector Heathcote, Hashimoto-san, Sidney the Elephant, Possible Possum, James Hound, Astronut, Sad Cat, The Mighty Heroes, and Sally Sargent.

Prior to restoration, this poster was rated good to very good. Restoration repaired the following defects: The poster had small tears and tiny paper loss on parts of some folds, with pinholes around the edges and a tear and paper loss in the top left corner that extended into the orange background. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
