Delta Airlines - Washington DC "Cherry Blossoms" by Jack Laycox (c. 1970s)
Lovely image of the Jefferson Monument peaking through abundant, blooming cherry blossoms. (Cherry blossom season is one of the most beautiful times to visit our nation's capital.) During the 1970s, there was an expansion of commercial air carriers and with it came a rush to promote destinations for each airline. Delta Air Lines commissioned Jack Laycox to design a group of travel posters in his style and with similar features to promote various domestic destinations.
