Dodge City Vintage US Title Lobby Card (R ca. 1940s)
Dodge City Vintage US Title Lobby Card (R ca. 1940s)
This is the title card from a set. Lobby cards were distributed to theaters typically in sets of eight (though sometimes could contain more or even fewer). A complete set can typically include one title card and several scene cards (though later films would sometimes forgo a title card). The title card typically included the title of the film, the production company, the main actors, and sometimes, the director.
Size*:
11" x 14"
Condition:
Very Good
The card is in wonderful condition, EXCEPT for something unusual. It was used in another country (likely Australia), and the credits area at bottom right (below the director credit) has a piece of black tape over it. It measures 5/16" x 5" (see our image). The words "A FIRST NATIONAL PICTURE" were stenciled in tiny letters in the bottom left of the background area, and the card was stamped with "CERT. 'A'" in tiny letters at top right in the blue background area. Other than this, the card is in great condition.
