Santa Fe Railroad - San Francisco "Bay Bridge" by Unknown (c. 1950s)
Santa Fe Railroad - San Francisco "Bay Bridge" by Unknown (c. 1950s)
1950s train railroad railway travel poster promoting tourism to San Francisco, California via the Santa Fe Railway, and featuring a time-lapse image of traffic on the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. However, the bridge no longer looks like this, as it was rebuilt in 1989 after the Loma Prieta earthquake.
Note that we have seen two versions of Santa Fe travel posters like this one. This version is on a slightly cream-colored paper stock that is surely an original from the 1950s. The other is on a bright white paper stock that we believe is from the 1960s.
Size*:
18" x 24"
Condition:
Good
Rolled.
The poster has darkened (somewhat unevenly around the edges). There are tack holes and pinholes in the blank corners. After linen backing the poster should display well.
