United Air Lines - Washington, D.C. Silkscreen by Unknown (c. 1960s)
United Air Lines - Washington, D.C. Silkscreen by Unknown (c. 1960s)
Stylized columns and a profile of George Washington statue for United flights to the nation's capital, Washington DC. From United Airlines Silkscreen series. It is reminiscent of Joseph Binder designs and may have been designed by him, but we cannot say for sure.
Size*:
25" x 40.75"
Condition:
Very Good to Excellent
Rolled and linen backed.
Upon very close inspection, there are some very minor scuffs that have not removed ink. I think because it was silkscreened, the inks sit more on the surface and if you knock it or rub it a kind of shiny spot appears. So you only see it up close when you move it around in the light. There are some tiny minor creases along border which won't show when framed. It is on heavy paper stock that has been linen backed. Linen backing is very well done. Inks are unfaded, bright and strong.
