Warner Bros. Cartoons Stock Poster Vintage US One Sheet (1946) - ORIGINAL RELEASE
Warner Bros. Cartoons Stock Poster Vintage US One Sheet (1946) - ORIGINAL RELEASE
This "stock" poster was created by Warner Bros. in 1946 for use with all entries of their "Merrie Melodies Looney Tunes" series (every few years, they made a different stock poster). Theaters would order this poster, which had a blank area at middle right. The theaters would then be sent paper "snipes" which could be placed in the blank area as the current showing changed. This poster features great early art of Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, and Daffy Duck. This poster was the first to feature Bugs Bunny as we know him today (previous versions featured earlier iterations of the character). For this reason, and the fact that the snipe area is blank, it is a very sought after poster.
Size*:
27" x 41"
Condition:
Very Good
Rolled. Linen backed and restored.
Prior to restoration, this poster had very minor fold wear and fold separations, some pieces of cellophane tape on the front at the borders, some smudges and a 7.5" tear running through Bugs Bunny's right ear. All these issues were addressed in professional restoration. Colors are bright and sharp.
